8 Steps to a healthier you | Life & Advice

We can all afford to be a little healthier. Staying as healthy as possible means we have a better quality of life in the long run. We feel better, look better, and keep our health in tip top condition. It’s an all round winning situation! These 8 steps will help you to work towards a healthier you:

1. Drink More Water

Water should be your drink of choice. It has no calories, can be flavoured with fruit, and helps to flush out fat and toxins. It can also help us to feel fuller, and more energised throughout the day. Drink at least 2 litres. Once you’re used to that, you can drink up to 3 and see how you feel. Building your intake up slowly can stop it from being such a shock to the system. Don’t worry if you need to urinate a lot after drinking - it should settle down after a while.

2. Sort Out Your Sleeping Pattern

Sleep is essential for cell repair, muscle growth, and getting us ready for the day ahead. It also helps us to process new information. Make sure you’re trying to go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. It might take some practice, but soon you’ll get into a good routine.

3. Stop Bad Habits

If you have bad habits like smoking and drinking, try to quit as soon as you can. Don’t try to do too much at once; you need this change to be sustainable. If your problems are particularly bad, you can consider rehab as an option. There are vaping liquids that can help you quit smoking, and support groups to give you the help you need. You have lots of options.

4. Eat Good Food

Eating natural, wholesome food is one of the best ways to stay healthy. If you’re filling your body with rubbish, you’re not going to feel great. Making sure you eat things the body was designed to eat is one of the most important steps to a healthier you.

5. Get Some Exercise

Exercise is something we were all born to do, and yet so many of us don’t bother. There are lots of benefits, from controlling weight to feeling more positive in general. Try different classes to find something you enjoy and try to get into a routine. A couple of hours a week is nothing when you think about it!

6. Think Positive Thoughts

Positive thoughts make all the difference. When you’re a more positive person, you’ll find you attract more positive experiences. Try it and see what a difference you can make!

7. Socialise

Socialising is good for us, whether you’re catching up with family or friends. Don’t be a recluse!

8. Develop Yourself

Take the steps you need to develop yourself and become an all round better person. Take classes, indulge in hobbies, and do things you enjoy. Aim to become the best version of yourself!
