'Shredding for the Wedding' Loosing weight before your big day | Wedding

When choosing my wedding dress last year I decided that to feel more comfortable on the day I would like to loose some weight. I suppose this is a thought that goes through most 'Bride to be's' minds as of course you want to look your best on one of the best days of your life. Lots of people have actually asked me 'ooh are you having any thing done are you loosing weight etc' and I feel that it does add a sense of pressure. To add the extra pressure on myself I thought it would be a great idea to buy my dress in a smaller size! Which I am happy I have done but I am also worried as I now only have about 11 weeks to sort myself out! Last summer I joined my local gym and had been going semi-regularly.
I enjoyed going to classes and found a good routine but this didn't seem enough. I changed my diet, cut out snacks and made a lot more healthier meals but again this didn't actually make a lot of difference. I lead a fairly active lifestyle, as you may know I have a dog so I walk him most evenings and we tend to take him out somewhere a little different on a weekend. Darren (My Fiance) bought me a fit bit at Christmas and this helped to make me even more active but again it wasn't the drastic difference I needed. After feeling a little down and not really sure what to do next I came across the opportunity to try out some new weight loss products from XLS Medical. I hadn't previously tried anything like this so I thought why not give it a ago!

I was given the opportunity to try them for 8 weeks, and to document how I was getting on through Social Media and of course this blog! I was sent off to get some before photos taken and I am now in to week 4 of the plan. To follow the plan the first week you must have 3 shakes a day as meal replacements and you are allowed healthy snacks in between. My first few days I found easy however the weekend came and it all went down the pan! However after a cheeky weigh in I had lost 4lb! It was great motivation to stick to it for week two. In my second week I visited the gym, and swapped my evening shake for a meal instead - this had to be a low calorie meal so I went for either salad and some fish or some meat and vegetables, that week I only lost 1lb which was annoying but still better than nothing.

I have just passed my 3rd week I have been going for walks on a lunch time, I have been to the gym three times last week and walking the Dog along with healthy evening meals and fruit for snacks (only 2 per day). I didn't weigh myself last week as I dont actually own scales (I have being weighing myself at my mums) however a few people have said that i look a little slimmer which is a complement I always want to hear! I have my Hen Do coming up in two weeks which I know I will be unable to sustain the shakes so for these next 10 days I am going to try my hardest to stick to it and get lots of exercise in! I will be sure to update you on my progress!

  1. I got sent the shake too! But I wasn't sure about how healthy it was to lose weight in this way. I'm thinking of looking into protein shakes instead. Luce xo
