Updating your home this winter | Wishlist

I never really understood when I was younger there was always adverts on the TV regarding getting your new sofa, kitchen, furniture etc in time for Christmas. I used to think well what difference does it make if its in before Christmas or not? Well... now I get it! I get the winter urge to update your home, make it cosy and have it sorted in time for getting the Christmas tree up! Some of my friends have recently bought their first homes and after chatting home wears and furnishings its got me looking too! Darren seems to be obsessed with getting a living room carpet at the moment, I am getting more on board with the idea but obviously its rather expensive.

I would quiet like to change our curtains and blinds in the living room but again its a little bit out of my budget at the moment (especially when we have just booked our honeymoon yay!) Not that I have a bay window, butttt I would love these bay window shutter blinds and I would love the window to match. Something we do want to do is change our windows and front door but this is defiantly a job for after the wedding. Obviously once we do this I will have to change the window shutters & blinds so at least I can do a little research in advance.

Obviously, home updates can be pricey however adding in little things can help make you feel like your changing up your rooms just on a smaller scale. Now winter has set in I would love a basket of blankets as it looks super cute and it is handy when your feeling chilly. Winter is a good time to update your bedding too as I know some people change their quilts so why not choose new fresh bedding to go with the change. These velvet pink ones from West Elm are so beautiful! I would love them on my bed.

Darren and I are currently on the hunt for a Bar Cart/ Drinks Trolly this is because our drinks cupboard is too full so we wanted a fancy way of displaying all of our Gin collection however they are expensive so its a saving up job for that one. However if I could choose any thins West Elm bar cart would be mine!

I find the bathroom fairly easy to update as ours is pretty small. We recently bought some new towels from Next and they sort of fulfilled our urge to buy new home wears. I love the Modern Geometric collection which is from Asda home, such a good price point for items that look fairly expensive.

Are you looking to update your home this winter?
