5 Years of Champagne & Lemonade.ox !

This year has been one of the best years of my life. I have such amazing experiences, tried so many new things and been on the craziest of adventures. I am so lucky to say that some of these amazing memories made would have not have happened without my blog. I really can not believe the amount of opportunities that this little blog has brought me and now 5 years down the line Im still going strong. I say it each year but I really didn't think that clueless me sitting in my tiny room at university would still be sharing my thoughts on the internet 5 years later. I have made some of the best of friends through having a blog, I have learnt so much, it has helped me establish my career, it has grown my confidence and of course brought me so many new experiences! 2016 was jam packed and looking back I don't even know how I fit it all in.

Darren and I visited the beautiful Ox Pasture Hall. A cute hotel and restaurant based in Scarborough, we had such an amazing time, we really need to re-visit  - Read my review here.

We moved back to our home town of Hull! We switched jobs and moved back with parents to be able to save money until we could afford a place of our own.

I paid a visit to Leeds and hung out with some lovely Leeds bloggers at the Ladbrokes Charity night! It was such great fun until I missed the last train home and Darren had to drive from Hull to collect me.
Me and some other Hull Bloggers also arranged another Hull Blogger meet up! We all had a lovely meal at Al Porto in Hull and chatted all things blogging! I made some great new friends and had a fab time with my old ones!

I reviewed a lovely hair salon in April based in my own little village of Hessle. It was great to have a pamper and I really enjoyed the experience - Read about it here!
I also went along to an event based at local jewellers Hugh Rice. We had a lovely time eating cupcakes and staring at all of the beautiful jewels in the store.
And of course there was the return of Hull Fashion Week ! This was my 3rd Fashion week I had attended and another chance to meet up with one of my friends Lewis-Duncan and his lovely fiancé.

I had a pretty fun time in May, it included another trip to Leeds to attend the Benefit raise your brow game event! It was such an amazing event and I felt very special to have been invited.
I also got to sample the new menu at Nando's. Im such a Nando's fan so for me this was a pretty awesome opportunity.
A new found love also came out of May which was in the form of Gin! We where invited to attend the Hull Gin Festival, we went along with our friends and sampled some amazing flavoured gins, we have been hooked ever since

A pretty big month for me! It started with visiting the Hallmark hotel for a delicious afternoon tea with some of my best blogging gals ! One of the best afternoons ever.
On the 14th of June I set off on my travels to South East Asia, first stop Bangkok. While in Bangkok I had the amazing opportunity of visiting the Great Kebab factory with my travel buddy Laura and my Thai blogger friend Gail! The food was amazing.

I was fairly quiet on the blog post front as I was pretty busy exploring the world, however I did manage to squeeze in a stay at Mad Monkey hostel, Koh Rong, Cambodia. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Cambodia as it was one of the best! It was such good fun and I met some amazing people.

Possibly the best month of the year as on the 10th August, Darren proposed to me on the beach in Krabi, it was such an amazing setting and the absolute perfect moment! I could not believe that it had happened and I have never been happier. We stayed the night at the Amari Vouge resort which was incredible and would love to return one day to experience it all over again. We had had such a perfect day I could not have wished for anything more perfect.

I decided that my adventure was over an flew back to be re-united with my Fiancé and get planning the wedding.
I also had a lovely make over at the Chanel counter which you can read about here!

We visited lots of wedding fairs, booked our venue and church and had great night at our engagement party
We went along to Napoleons Casino in Hull to sample their menu and have a go at learning Black jack! - Read our experience here.
I also was lucky enough to attend the Blogger Halloween party organised by my lovely friend Ashton and her friend Kirsty. We had a road trip to Birmingham for the day and it was so much fun, I even  won the prize for best costume :D

It was a quieter month on the blog front as I started my new job as an international marketing assistant. However, I did manage a little Hull blogger meet up at Hobby craft which was great fun!

And finally the last month of 2016 saw me visiting the newly re-opened Yates in Hull. Darren and I were invited to review the new menu. We also reviewed the menu at Gusto in Manchester which was delicious all before heading off for a weekend away in Dublin. We were lucky enough to review the Guinness factory while on our visit which was an incredible experience.
We also started proceedings for buying our first home together :)

All in all I had a pretty incredible year! I am so lucky to have these amazing experiences and even luckier that people want to read all about them. I would like to say a huge thank you to any one who has ever taken the time to read my blog because without you these opportunities wouldn't become realities.
