OX Pasture Hall Hotel | Travel Review*

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited over to Scarborough to stay in the beautiful Ox pasture Hall hotel. I have actually had this booked in since November but we thought it would be nice to have it as a bit of a New Year treat. We had arranged to go over on Saturday evening. We arrived around 3pm and was greeted by the lovely Lyndsy who explained that we where meant to be in the luxury suite however there was a problem with heating so instead we where to go into the the classic double room. Obviously that was fine with us, we where just happy to be there ! We where asked what time we would like to eat and we agreed on 6:45.

After being showed to our room and dropped off our bags we decided to go for a wander. After walking for a good 15 mins and seeing no sign of other civilisation we decided to head back grab the car and find a pub :) we found a lovely little local pub which was nice and friendly and had a drink there. We then went back to have a bit of chill time before the evening. We had plenty of time to relax and get ready. I took a particular shine to the big fluffy dressing gowns that where supplied in the rooms.

We went over to the bar for a drink before hand and was offered the menu to make of food choices ! I could have had it all to be honest as it all sounded amazing. We where then shown to our table and given a bottle of fizz which set the evening of nicely !! I choose the mushroom soup to start and Darren choose the herring, before this arrived we had some of there homemade bread in different flavours which I thought was a lovely little touch and an amuse bouche which was a little appetiser ! It tasted amazing :) The soup was just as amazing and so was my main course of prawns and scallops. It was a little bit spicy but very well complemented by the sticky jasmine rice (which I could have had a plateful), Darren choose the steak and I'm guessing it tasted as good as it looked! We then had another little palette cleanser of passion fruit sorbet with a whisky sour foam which was very moreish and then finished off with the worlds best sticky toffee pudding and Darren had cheese cake. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have had. I would 100% recommend and defiantly go back there just for the food , it deserves its 2-rosettes for culinary excellence award ! Our waiter was always really lovely and nice and chatty to us which I liked :).

We then popped back into the bar for another drink. There was actually a wedding being held on the same night in the venue they have so there where a few guests milling around. We sat ourself next to the big fire and chatted to a nice couple sat next to us who had the cutest dog! They said they had stayed there quiet a few times as they where allowed to bring the dog and he could stay in the room and also come in to the bar which I thought was really nice. Returning to our room we watched a little bit of TV and then fell asleep in the big comfy bed.

The next morning we woke up and got ready for the day and went over to the restaurant again to have our breakfast. This wasn't as peaceful as the evening meal as it was busy with wedding guests. However we just helped ourselves to cereals and pastries and then ordered a full english breakfast each. It all tasted pretty good and set us up for a cold morning walk around Scarborough.

We had such a lovely stay and really would recommend to any one looking for a Scarborough hotel that is a little 5 minute drive from the main town but has potentially the most beautiful scenic views. Thank you Ox Pasture Hall for having us! We hope to see you again :)
