#LLRaceNight | Manchester Events

I was recently invited to the Ladbrokes race night at Revolution bar on Deansgate locks in Manchester. After seeing some of my favourite blogging girls where going along I was very excited to attend. The night was run by Ladbrokes in celebration of Cheltenham races. We where treated so some lovely food and drinks whilst chatting to fellow bloggers and then invited to play a race night game. Unfortunatly I had to leave early but I really enjoyed the time I spent while I was there. Ladbrokes had organised a film crew for a Gogglebox style shoot which I thought was a fab idea. We also where asked to take 'Race Face' selfies as if we had won big on a race !!

Revolucion De Cuba | Yelp Review

I recently decided to get involved with the events run by Yelp! Yelp is an online site where you can see reviews of bars, restaurants, shops, anything really. They encourage people to write reviews about the places they have visited for others to read. I like to read reviews especially of restaurants as I can never decide on a place to go so its good to see what other people enjoy. Yelp hold monthly events where Yelp reviewers meet and enjoy activities. I heard of one that was happening this months and decided to go along ...

The event was held at Revolucion De Cuba I had never been there before so was excited to see what it was all about. I did not know what to expect at all and was apprehensive of going alone but I was greeted by the lovely Jonny and quickly introduced to claire who was equally as lovely.

The venue itself has amazing decor, I was really impressed and though the theme was great. We where all given a drinks voucher for a cuba libre cocktail however I wasn't drinking so the bar tender offered to make me none alcoholic which was just as yummy as an alcoholic one !!

We then went down to another part of the bar (No idea it was that big) which again the decor was fab. Our first task was to make our own mojitos ! The bar tender was really enthusiastic and clear showing us all what to do and then we made our own. I had a tiny bit of bacardi in mine but again the bar tender was accommodating and made mine more tasty for the none drinkers ;).

We then moved on to rum tasting, obviously I couldn't join in on this but I still enjoyed listening and learning about different rums and I had a sniff as they where tasted by the others.. I did not like the smell :/ and i doubt I would like the taste but was good seeing others enjoy.

After all of this fun we then enjoyed a final cocktail back upstairs in the bar mine was sooo yummy ! I can not wait to go back and try some but with alcohol this time :D

I really enjoyed the event, so glad I had the chance to go along ! I met some lovely new people and tried a bar that I never had before.
Thanks for the invite cannot wait for the next event !

Barburrito | Review

A few weeks ago I was invited to the Barburrito on Deansgate, Manchester to learn all about Burritos ! Barburrito is one of my favourite 'fast food' style places to eat! Im allllways craving it and have it at every opportunity so I was really excited to be able to go along to their event and learn more about the brand. I met up with Amy from and went along after we had both finished uni. We where greeted by two lovely ladies who are the in house PR and marketing team, they are actually based at the Deansgate restaurant. They sat us in our own little area and offered us drinks and nachos. I was driving so opted for a soft drink but tucked in to the chips and dips ! (I could eat them all day long).

We first off got to try a bit of every possible filling, I really liked doing this as I tend to stick to my usual shredded beef and I found I really enjoyed the pork (which is strange as I don't usually like pork). They told us some info about the restaurant and their plans for expansion.

We then learnt how to wrap a burrito as there is a specific style. We firstly just tried this with rice as to not waste the yummy ingredients and after a few practices got to go behind the counter and create our own. I loved doing this and tried a few different fillings that I usually wouldn't. Mine was so yummy I really enjoyed and I am not going to keep trying different filling combos every time I go.

Thank you so much Barburrito for the invite and thanks for spoiling us with all the yummy food. I can not wait for my next visit! I would really recommend for everyone to try it out if you haven't already. Find your closest restaurant here:

A taste of Manchester | Food Blogging

*Warning this is photo heavy and will potentially make you hungry*

I have collaborated with  fabulous Copthorne Hotel, Manchester, on a great project with their chef, Simon Taylor, on a truly traditional recipe that can be found here!! On the millennium hotels website. The recipe includes locally sourced traditional black pudding (from Bury), some tasty chorizo and a free range egg. I excitedly agreed to take part in creating this recipe as I love cooking so much and would love to include more and share on my blog. I do need to improve my photography so sorry for the quality but hopefully you can get the gist. I love black pudding and chorizo so this combo sounded very yummy to me :) I really enjoyed having a go at creating this and reallllly enjoyed eating it ! Let me know if you decide to try making it too.

For the recipe you will need:
2 slices of Bury Black pudding
1 Free range egg
Egg wash
Bread crumbs
Vegetable oil for deep frying

The first step is to put the chorizo and black pudding in a food processor and blitz together

You then must add an egg and combine then place mixture in the fridge for around 20 minutes

The next step is to 'soft' boil the eggs this basically is to ensure the middle stays runny. The eggs must be chilled quickly so place them in a bowl of cold water.

You can then peel the shell from the egg (very carefully)

Next up you need to use the oil and fill up a pan and put this to 'boil'
I tested the oil was hot enough by putting a bread crumb in to see if it cooked.

You carefully mould the chorizo and black pudding mixture around the egg until it looks like a large ball. This is harder to achieve than it looks but just keep rollin and padding it (if that makes any sense at all)

Then lay out your bread crumbs and roll the ball in to the bread crumbs again just roll and press until the ball is totally covered

You then put it in to the oil and cook until brown (around 4 minutes)

Then there you have it your very own taste of manchester !

I hope you liked this different type of post ! Do let me know if you  would like to see more like this and if you attempt to make this yourself :D !!

Beauty Bargains | Haul

I picked this up at the #RORBloggersSwap (post here) as you can see in my last monthly empties post I had just used up my last one of these so I was really happy to pick this up. It is one of my favourite mascaras so I'm glad that I could use one again without actually having to pay for it. So thank you whoever swapped this!

Primark / Concealer / £1
I have seen a few people saying that this is pretty good so I decided to grab one on my last trip to Primark. Obviously this isn't the best thing for £1 but its good to maybe throw in your hand bag for emergency touch ups.

I love this colour. My friend Charly from recommended this as a dupe to Mac amber light eyeshadow. I decided to try it out as its only £1 and I have used it loads the pigmentation is amazing and its really easy to blend. Im looking forward to picking up more MUA colours.

I have had my eye on this for so long now. I always try it out in the store but as I have a extensive selection of foundations and bb cremes already I have always put it off however I picked this one up on Depop for £6 inc. PP. so I was dead happy I got it for half price and its brand new too. I haven't used it all that much yet but I think I will in the summer months.

Another depop bargain. You may have read my Beauty Birthday gifts post in December (read here) I picked up Sweet and Sour from Mac however after using once I decided it was not for me so I sold this on. I still wanted a similar colour but more matte so I found this one on Depop for £7 inc pp.I really like it and glad I managed to get it a bit cheaper too.

Something else I pick up at the ROR bloggers swap. This is such a lovely colour and so easy to wear. I had never tried a Nars lipstick and the colour really appealed to me so glad I had the chance to try this out. I would defiantly check out Nars in the future now as usually I wouldn't bother.

This arrived in my Cohorted beauty box. Yes I managed to grab one amongst all the drama ! To be honest I was slightly disappointed with the contents of the box. I wouldn't actually choose any of the products and some I know I will never use but oh well lesson learnt. I have used a few bits so far, this being one of them. I haven't ever tried products from Bobbi Brown! Im not sure why its just never been something that appealed to me. I do really like this mascara and I think its always good to have minis ! I wouldn't buy this again but Im enjoying something new.

Another product in the box was this Korres cleanser. Again I have never used this brand so was interested in seeing what it was like. I have used this a few times so far. Its okay nothing to shout about and defiantly not worth the price tag - I expect visible results! I suppose its okay for when my others run out.

I haven't used an eye primer before. I do not like the applicator of this because when applying to your eye area its a bit 'hard' and if you accidentally poke yourself it could really hurt. I have used this quiet a lot. I don't particularly notice the difference. Im just using it for the sake of it I suppose.

Over all I picked up some fab bargains this month but have learnt my lesson to not conform to buy beauty boxes when they are usually a waste of money. These products where all bought over the month of February. This will probably the last 'haul' post for a while as I have £0 funds! Also I am trying to use up all the products I have (my stash is too big).
What have you picked up recently??
