New Years Eve | #OOTD

Jacket / Zara
Shoes / Topshop

Its coming up to the one night of the year where everyone gets dressed up and heads out to celebrate! Im not a huge fan of NYE as I think it can be a bit over hyped but the past few years I have spent the night with friends at someones house celebrating rather than the hustle and bustle of the town. I still like to get dressed up but I make it slightly more casual. This year I have chosen to use accessories to glam up a bit of a plain outfit. I have teamed this rose gold sequinned jacket from Zara with my black Balmian via H&M T-shirt and some plain black leggings finished off with my gorgeous bag from my . I think this casual outfit look a bit more glam with the finishings touches.

What are you up to for NYE ??

I will be on my holiday in Egypt so I think I will be wearing a bikini and then possibly a dress for the evening ! Make sure you check back for more OOTD posts from my holiday.

A Huge End of Year Empties | 2015

I have managed to collect and use up 24 empty products of the past 3 months ! I didn't really have much by the end of October so I thought I may as well just carry them all over to write up a huge end of year post! I have written one for pretty much every other month this year. I actually like writing them up monthly as it makes me think about the products I really liked using and the ones that i probably won't bother with in the future. As usual I will write a little bit about my thoughts on each product and they shall all be linked too :) If you want to read my last empties post you will find it here !

My one true love is dry shampoo especially the Batiste range. These two scents are my go to ones as I love the packaging and the smell is fab :D. I think I go through at least one of these monthly.

I use this to clean my make up brushes as it is nice and gentle. It foams up well and leaves your brushes nice and clean :)

I have spoken quiet a lot about the Andrew Barton range over this year and they have become my favourites over the past few months. The Blonde shampoo smells divine and it definitely rivals the higher end, more expensive brands that are available. Read more about the Andrew Barton range here !

Nivea / Stress Protect deodorant / £2.29

Soap & Glory / Hand Food
I have had this on my desk at work and it has worked a treat in the colder months. I love the scent of this one as its the sugar crush one which smells sweet and limey. I have a another one currently on the go.

Soap & Glory / Body moisturiser
Again this is the sugar crush scent that smells beautiful. I think I still have a big tub of this left to get through as well.

Benefit / Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW Foundation
This was a bit of a disappointing product in my eyes. I have had for a while and I just wanted to use it up. It just wasn't to my taste, there wasn't enough coverage and it was a bit to thin in consistency. I don't think I would ever waste money on it again.

Collection 2000 / lasting perfection concealer
This is a product that I always go through every month. I don't think a month goes by where I don't talk about

I wrote about this in my March Favourites post and it has carried on being one of may favourites over this year. It is my second bottle of this perfume ! I asked my mum for it for christmas as I just love it so much. I always get complimented on it and people are always shocked when I say its Lady Gaga. I like it as an every day perfume. Just for work when you don't want to use your 'expensive' ones.

I have mentioned this primer a few times on my blog. I really love it, it is one of the best I have used so far and I think it will be a constant repurchase for me. I love that its a cream texture and you just put it on like a moisturiser. It makes my makeup stay in place and last all day. Its so affordable too.

Lily Flame / Pink Grapefruit candle
I love lily flame candles. I actually included on in one of my Christmas Gift guides this year. This one has been the best one ever. It has lasted so long and is the best scent EVER ! I think I need to repurchase although I have two other lily flames that I haven't even burnt yet.

Nivea / Stress Protect deodorant
I quiet liked using this. There isn't really much to say about a deodorant, it was good it did its job I have re-purchased.

Liz Earle / Serum / Sample*
Clarins / Daily Expertise moisturiser / Sample*

Liz Earle / Serum / Sample*
I don't really remember how I felt when I used this. I think the scent was pretty nice but it didn't really make much difference from just using a small sample.

I love this cleanser. In my opinion it is the best one I have used, it is such good value for money and works really ell for my skin. Im sure everyone has seen so many fab reviews of it. Its quiet moisturising and keeps my skin really clear. I could not recommend it enough !

Neautrogena / Visibly clear pink grapefruit daily scrub
I used this while in the shower. I always like to have a facial scrub as I like to have fresh clean skin. this is quiet a cheap product so I always pick one up to have on the shelf. It smells really nice too.

Clinique / 3 step clarifying lotion
This was in my travel toiletries post as I bought it to take away with me on my summer holiday, which you can read here! I have used it before in the past and really enjoyed it so maybe I will kick it up again in the future.

Clinque / Dramatically different moisturising gel
One of my favourite ever products. I always rave about it, I have featured it on my blog quiet a lot as you may have seen. I use it daily and I just love it, I would always recommend to anyone and everyone.

Clinique / Turn around serum
I have really enjoyed using this and I'm glad I purchased it at the time as I really wanted to try it out and I had the money too. However now I am on a bit more of a budget so I probably wouldn't be able to afford it at the moment. I would recommend it to anyone who fancies investing in a new serum.

L'Oréal / Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle & Firming night cream
I can really tell the difference in my skin after using this. I put a layer on before bed and work it in to my skin and I love that my face feels firm in the morning. I would recommend if your on a bit of a beauty budget as you can usually pick this up in Boots or Superdrug on an offer.

Clarins / Daily Expertise moisturiser / Sample*
I really like this little sample! Enough to even make me go check it out in-store however, I have so much clinique that I still need to use up before I go purchase any more cremes!

Clinique / Liquid facial soap
I bought this along with the clarifying lotion to take away with me. I really liked using it as its mild and gentle on my sensitive skin. I didn't particularly like the smell and make face defiantly needed a moisturiser after using it as it drys your skin out quiet a bit.

This creme smells amazing. I really liked using it and it actually tastes quiet well seen as though it was only a small tube. I think I would actually repurchase this in a bigger size in the future.

I did really like this but I wouldn't say it would be an essential in my routine. I liked the small exfoliating beads within it as it wasnt harsh but you could feel the difference. You can read my full review on the Emma Hardie collection here !

Travelodge Top 5 | Staycations

I have teamed up wit  Travelodge to speak about 5 staycations I want to take this year. Even though I have always lived in England I haven't actually traveled around that much. There are so many places I would love to visit so i'm hoping next year I can try.

I have been to Newcastle once when I was younger to watch a football game however, I didnt actually get to see the city. I would love to go there for a night out as I have heard it is great fun! It is quiet far from Manchester so I think it would be great to go for a full weekend. There are some great places to stay for great prices too. Check some out here.

I have actually been to liverpool a few times but it has to be my favourite place for a night out! So I would love to go back again. I really like the shopping area in Liverpool too so I think it would be fun to go over for a day and night ! Shop by day party by night. You can use the handy map search engine to find the best location to suit you.

I would love to go to Ireland. My Boyfriend actually lived there for a little while when he was younger so I would love to go over and have a look what it's all about ! I will not be drinking Guinness though as I think it tastes minging ;) haha. I do not understand the Irish accent at all so its going to be fun trying to work out what everyone is actually saying

Ahhhh Brighton excites me so much. It has been on my travel list for so long :) I love the seaside and this seems like the best in Britain. All the shops look so sweet and quirky, im sure I would find lots of unique things there. This is defiantly a place to visit in the warmer months though as I bet it isnt as pleasent in the winter. Check out some great deals here

Okay so I have been to Wales quiet a few times but not as far as Cardiff. I have heard it is a pretty fun city so I would love to go over and check it out. I have heard it has a wild night life so I would love to experience it for myself. Also I really like the welsh vallies accent so I would love to hear everyone chatting on haha.

Where is your on your travel list next year ?

Meet My Blogging Friends | The Equinox Fashion

Carrying on my meet my blogging friends series, here is my lovely friend Gail !

Name: Gail

Style : Street Style

Why did you start your blog?

Because I wanted to do something different. I wanted to express what I thought about life and stuff, that's why I have decided to create my blog :)

How long have you been blogging?

Overall, 4 years! However, I would say 2 years because the first 2 years, I wasn't really focusing on blogging sue to the full time job.

What is your favourite part about blogging and what makes you carry on?

I would say 'opportunity' Trust me, I still can't believe how far I have become and how my blog has led me to various opportunities I have ever dreamt about. Another thing is I love meeting new people, and blogging has drawn me to meet a lot of cool bloggers from all around the world not jut in the UK :) The feedback I have from the readers always motivate me to carry on, especially I always write about inspirational posts (not fashion) and they say 'you are my inspiration' and it makes me happy!

What has been your best opportunity that has come as a result of your blog?

I think everything is an opportunity to me, but I would say to particiapate with Adidas Neo in London was the extreme one! I joined the team in London, got the best hotel room, while testing their mobile app :) Also, another one was to be at DvF Fashion Show without going to NYFW lol I met Dianne in person, and took a photo with her. I was like oh my f*** gosh!!!

What blogs do you love to read?

Tbh, I don't have any specific blogs because I love reading blogs randomly lol

Any think you want to add about me and youu as blogger friends ;)

Thank you being a good friend of mine while I'm here in Manchester :) You know, I have come here alone but now I have a lot of friends! I feel so blessed about life and people I have met here!

Why I Don't Want To Wind Down For Xmas | Lifestyle

If you’ve got a couple of weeks off work or Uni right now, you may quickly find yourself at a loose end. Perhaps the worst part of being away from everything for so long is being away from your mates. I love to organise parties and events because I am such a social bug. I’m not too fond of long periods of time away from friends and family. Instead, I’ll put together some plans for meeting up and going out to keep us all together.

One of my favourite places to meet up is in a bar. And no, it’s not all about the alcohol! It’s about the vibe and the atmosphere. We usually pick a central location, so nobody has to travel any further than anyone else. There’s space to spread out if more people come along, or we can pick a quiet corner for a bit of a chat. Best of all, it’s somebody else’s mess to clean up if we all order food and lots of drinks!

Those of us that are really into fashion often check out the various fairs and shows around the area. There aren’t many that crop up at this time of year, but the Christmas fairs and markets often have a few interesting clothing stalls. And there is nearly always a Vintage event on shortly after Xmas for us all to attend. I’m quite lucky that I have a lot of like-minded friends when it comes to fashion. We can always find an excuse to meet up.

Of course, it’s not all about fashion. There are times when we’re all craving a bit of excitement. One of my friends had an Experience gift this time last year. She invited us all to tag along and watch her drive a supercar. Since then, we’ve all been on the lookout for the next big experience. I think I may have found a great day out that fits the bill. I hope they’re all up for it!

There are still plenty of big parties to attend before everyone is back at work or Uni. New Year has to be the biggest event of the year for me. I love the idea of heading down to London and hearing Big Ben ring in the count of midnight. The fireworks and illuminations are said to be epic. It’s a bit of a journey though at that time of year. Accommodation can be tricky to get too. But I’m definitely looking forward to a big crowd of us going if we can.

This time of year is just too exciting to slow down and do nothing. I like to be busy anyway. Most of all, I love being in the company of my friends and family. There’s nothing quite as good at Christmas as everyone coming together to enjoy the festivities. Part of the fun of it all includes the Boxing Day sales as well. Grabbing a bargain outfit is definitely on my list of things to do this year! Have a wonderful time off work, and make the most of a good break.

Adapting to life as a student | Top Tips*

This may seem a bit of a random time to be sharing a post like this however, I know around this time people are applying for universities, visiting open days and making some tough choices. So I wanted to share this post and break up all of the christmas and party season posts that everyone shares in december :)

#ThrowBack to some cringe photos from my first year of uni ;)

Adapting to life as a student- not as tricky as it seems!
Doing anything for the first time can be terrifying. But when you have to cope with slowly-increasing adult responsibilities alongside entering a new form of education, it can be almost-overwhelming. Add this to possibly moving to a new, unfamiliar city, having to make new friends, and juggling the increase in work and social activities, and it can feel like enough to make your head explode.

Luckily, there are ways to tackle all of these issues, and they apply to younger and more mature students who are taking part in adult learning, etc. Don’t knock them till you try them.

Finding a place to live and making new friends- argh!
There are many options to choose from when it comes to student accommodation, be it private accommodation, student halls, or staying at home. If you’ve chosen to move away from home for university, congratulations on making a very tricky life decision! The thought of moving away from your family is terrifying for many, as you probably won’t realise how much they do for you until it’s too late.

If you’ve chosen to live in student halls, prepare yourself for a lot of mess and noise.
Other students may not be as considerable as you, or they may have a social calendar that differs to yours. You don’t get to choose who you live with if you live in halls, which often puts a lot of people off. Regardless, many people make friends very quickly whilst living in halls; it just depends on the luck of the draw.

Halls are also a great way to slowly adapt to independent living, as you won’t have to worry about bills or landlords, but you’ll still enjoy the many benefits of independent living.

If you choose to live in private accommodation, or if you’re moving to private accommodation from halls, you’ll get to choose exactly where you live, and who you live with. This is ideal if you dislike the chaos of stereotypical student life, or if you’re a mature student.

One of the major drawbacks of living in privately rented accommodation, of course, has to be dealing with bills. If you’ve never lived away from home before, it can be a big shock to the system having to suddenly live on a strict budget.

If you’re moving to an entirely new city, make sure to go exploring so you’re slightly familiar with the area before you move. Get one step ahead of your soon-to-be-nonstop social life by making a note of any interesting shops, nightlife spots, or places to eat, etc. Familiarise yourself with your university campus too, as in some major cities, the different buildings can be set apart from each other.

Studying and having a social life- you can do both of these!
One of the trickiest things you have to adapt to when starting university is the sudden and monumental workload. As if it couldn’t get any worse, you have to balance this with your social life
which will likely flourish during your time at university. To top it all off, you have to stick to a very strict budget to avoid going into your overdraft. It’s enough to drive you mad.

To cope with all of the above, routine and planning are essential.
Balancing your social life and your workload can be difficult. You could go out often due to the stress from your workload, which might stop you from doing as much work, which causes your workload to build up, which makes you stressed, which makes you go out... it’s a nightmare of a cycle to get caught in.

A good idea is to keep a diary or a timetable handy.
Each week, on a Sunday night, plan out your week, making notes of your lectures, workshops, any social occasions, and then make space for relaxing and studying, and then stick to it. It can be tempting to leave all of your work until the last minute, but think about how much better you’ll feel if you do it bit by bit.

If you’re taking part in an online course or distance learning, all of this advice still applies. Complete all of the work you are set, but make sure to make time for social activities and relaxing.

If you’re an adult learner, and have to balance another career or a family alongside your learning, setting yourself a routine or keeping a diary/timetable is the best move. Although the responsibilities of a student’s social life are not the biggest, the principle is still the same.Regardless of your age, living situation, or learning environment; make sure to never overdo it with your work. It can lead to stress or burnout, or even illness. Ultimately, your health and wellbeing takes priority over work being completed on time. Never be afraid to ask lecturers, staff, friends, or family for help.

As one of the leading providers of qualifications and courses in bookkeeping, the IAB are well aware of the experiences that students of all ages experience.
