New Look | Haul #6

So I did a bit of shopping (once again) the other day and I found sooo much I liked in New Look! I have such a love/hate relationship with Newlook. I will see things on the website then they look crappy in the shop. Or I go in the shop and find NOTHING so I don't go in for ages! I was in a Little village called Beverley (which is actually the place I was born) and they don't have that many 'Fashion shops' so I didn't have a lot to choose from ! Any way went in and instantly liked four different items ! which is very rare for me to pick up that many things in one shop.  So this is what I bought :). I shall link them to the website if they are available.

(sorry the colour is off here, not sure why)

Crochet vest top // £12.99

Have New Look upped their game for summer?

Mascaras | Top 5 Beauty Picks

I have decided to put a little series together of Top 5 Beauty picks :) I used to only use one of each product and now I have at least 5 on the go of each !! Pretty bad but I cannot help myself buying new things. I get too excited when I see another blogger review something and say it is really good, I instantly want to try it for my self. I am trying to cut down and I think compared to a lot of bloggers my makeup stash is tiny ;). Hope you like this series let me know what you think :).

Name: They're Real!
Brand: Benefit
Price: £19.50
Where can I buy this?: In boots, house of fraser, debenhams, an actual benefit store etc.
or online here :)
Likes: I love the brush I think it separates your lashes really well and make them quiet long. It is the UK's No 1 selling mascara and I can see why :). I really do love this product and I shall repurchase again and again. I always reach for this is I want my lashes to look longer, but not over the top. I only ever you once coat with this too ! If not I think it can look to cloggy.
Dislikes: I feel like the colour should be a bit darker. I tend to add another mascara on top if i want more of a dramatic look. Also it is very pricey so not affordable for all. I think I got mine in America for a bit cheaper.
Rating: 4.5 / 5 (just want it to darker please)

Name: DiorShow Extase (090)
Brand: Dior
Price: £24.50
Where can I buy this?: Boots, house of fraser, debenhams, selfridges on online here
Likes: This feels really luxurious, the packaging is so sleek and it feels glam. The shape of the brush makes your lashes fan really easily and the colour is really dark. Iv had this for a year now and its still lasting me really well so its worth the money as you only really need one coat
Dislikes:It can get really cloggy at times and some times you have to scrape the brush clean.
Rating: 4/5. Not sure if I would re-buy or try another high-end brand!

Name: Big Eyes
Brand: Maybelline
Price: £8.99
Where can I buy this?: Boots, Superdrug, (any where else? I'm not sure) or online here :)
Likes: I received this in a beauty box recently. I like the concept that there are two brushes as sometimes i get mascara on my face when applying to my bottom lashes (usually when I'm rushing around) The mini brush is really cute and works so well on your bottom lashes.
Dislikes: Its not a very dark mascara and I feel its a bit of a faff when you have to undo both ends etc. but I suppose if you have the time its not so bad.
Rating: 3/5 I don't think I would rave about this product but I do like the concept of it.

Name: Scandaleyes Lycra Flex
Brand: Rimmel
Price: £6.99
Where can I buy this?: again Boots, Superdrug etc Or here!
Likes:  This was always my go to brand for mascara before I started trying higher end products. I used to really like the big brush (I'm not as keen now) Its a dark mascara which you will now know I like ! and make your lashes look a bit longer. This mascara seems to last for agesss as well.
Dislikes:  Not a big fan of the bigger brush now like I just said I think you cannot be as precise with it. It can some times be quiet clumpy and I don't really know what the lycra thing is all about ??
Rating: 2.5/5 Just average, good for everyday and the price is great :)

Name:Sexy plump Ultra volume
Brand: Yves Rocher
Where can I buy this?: I received this in a goodie bag I think so not actually sure what store stock it but you can buy online here
Likes:Oh my gosh this mascara is my absolute fave at the moment. I have had it in my draw for a while but never reached for it until a few weeks ago when I though I would give it ago. I had never heard of the brand and to be honest I thought it was a cheap one (due to the packaging). I loved it from the minute I tried it. Its really dark the brush evens your lashes really well and adds length its just my ideal mascara at the moment.
Dislikes: The packaging is such a let down. To be honest I really did think it was just a cheap one. When reaching for this post I found the Yves Rocher website and found the price. I was shocked tbh but I do think its worth it. I love it just as but as the 'they're real' so I think I would pay the same for it.
Rating: 4.8/5 I would 100% recommend you try it out!( But make the packaging worth the money too)

Hope you liked this post next up I'm thinking liquid foundations :)
Let me know what you think !

Interviews | Advice

Today I thought I would share my Interview experiences with you hope you find it interesting ...

1.Finding a job / Applying
From personal experience I think that you never find a job when you are really focussing on it and making it your priority.
For example when I used to live in London I was looking for a job after christmas and I searched and searched for a part time job. I really wanted to work in a Fashion store as that is what I study and I wanted the experience to be relevant. As I was at uni 5 days a week I needed evenings and weekends really I must have handed out at least 10-20 CV's every weekend as well as applying online and it just seemed like I had no luck ! After few months of searching I was really down about it and kind of just gave up. My friends suggested we go over to Portobello Road for the day instead of me job hunting, and when I was there I saw a sign in a shop window asking for a part time sales assistant. I went in store to inquire and took my cv in the following day. I think it was 2 days later I had a phone call for a trail shift and then at the end of the shift they offered me the job.
I was so happy, it was thee cutest little boutique and I loved working there! So moral of my long story is don't look so hard !
(I have another similar story but I shall not go on.)
In terms of applying I think there in no harm in applying for as many as possible and see what response you receive. I have probably applied for about 100 different placements so far and had about 15 responses! Just don't give up :)

Once you have been offered an interview the best thing to do is research as much as possible ! Find out everything you can about the company. Also a good thing to do is find out about who your interview is with .. ring to find out the name of your interviewer the you can search on Linked in to see what their background is, you may have a common interest that you can discuss in the interview.

I have previously been asked to prepare something to take along to an interview. Once I had to take an item that described me, it was a group interview and most people took extremely boring things .. a iPod cause they like music :| .. Er yeah whats that got to do with anything? Other a watch because they are 'good at time keeping' yes very good but a bit boring. I made a collage of various art/fashion projects to show my creativity. (Mine was the best answer and I got the job)
Other things include a presentation or a portfolio. The best thing is to be fully prepared so even if they don't ask always take along your cv and some examples of past work even if it is just some photographs of uni/school work.

This is important to most as you want to look your very best. I feel like it depends what type of job you apply for as to what you wear. For me as I am applying for Fashion internships I want to look start but also on trend, even if you just add a scarf for a bit of colour or shoes it is good to show you know what is 'in fashion'. On the other hand if you are going for something that is not related to fashion this may not apply to you but you still need to look clean and presentable :).

It is okay to be nervous, it is natural! At the end of the day though even if you don't get the job it is an experience, I know that I am a lot more confident and prepared now than I was a few months ago at one of my first Internship Interviews. Your interviewer had to go through the same process as you to achieve their job so just look at it that way !

If you unfortunately done get the job be sure to ring/email and ask for some feedback as to why you wasn't right for the position. It is really helpful as it can help you prepare for the next one and you can work on what you may have done wrong.
For one of my interviews at a company in London I was asked to prepare a presentation with one idea for a PR campaign, my feedback was that I only gave one idea.. but thats what they specifically asked for :S so if that was only reason then maybe I would have got the job? I keep that in mind now and ensure I ask what they specifically would like from me :)

I hope my advice can help some one :) I am by no means an expert but I wanted to share my experiences with people going through the same thing.
I am thinking of doing a post about Interview Questions? Let me know if any one would be interested !
Hope you are all well :)

Primark & Boots | Haul #5

So I have a mini haul to show you today ! I had my first exam the other day and decided after it was over I would pop in to town and buy myself some little treats. I went in to Primark really to buy some new Pyjamas as the ones i have at my boyfriends house were looking a bit shabby. I forgot to include them in the photos but they are really cute set which where only £8 a bargain if you ask me. I also grabbed some other bits and bobs which you can see below..

Boots // Cleansing wipes // 3 for £3
Garnier // Micella cleansing water // £2.95 (or around that price)
Bastiste // Dry shampoo in Cherry scent // £2.99
Boots // Mango & Orange blossom shower Gel // £1.09

Real Techniques // complexion sponge // £5.99
Real Techniques //  shading brush // £7.99
Collection lasting perfection // Concealer // £4.19
Loreal // Nude magique BB powder // £6.99

I wanted a new sponge cause even though I do wash mine regularly I use it everyday so I just think its nice to get a new one every so often. I don't have Real Techniques eyeshawdow brushes so I thought I best get one to add to the collection. My concealer is running out so I grabbed another while I had chance and I the BB powder was an influenced buy from watching Becca Rose on YouTube :) See her channel here:www.youtube.com/user/voussontbeauetbelle

Necklace // £6
Flower ring // £1.50
Flower earrings // £1.50
Set of Rings // £2

My friends tell me I need more chunky statement necklaces so I saw this one and thought it was nice spring pastel colours so this dropped it to my basket. I then saw these rings and I loved them all and obviously you need the matching earrings !

Plain white vest top // £2
Bandeau // £2.50

I noticed my white vest top wasn't looking very white any more so I grabbed another one of those, and I threw out my bandeau's the other week as I had had them for quiet some time so I found this one in prim ark which was a bargain!

Primark // Leaf print skirt // £9
I already have the other version of this skirt, its an orange print. I love the fabric and the way it fits so I though I would pick up the other colour. For £9 you can't really say no.

So yes there it all is :) I didn't go crazy but I picked up some pieces that I needed/wanted :). Has any one else been hauling recently??
